Kamal Haasan’s younger daughter – Akshara Haasan is currently promoting her upcoming Tamil film – Vivegam. In a recent interview, the actress revealed that she, being an atheist had recently turned to another religion – Buddhism. She mentioned that this religion attracted her. In response to this, Kamal Haasan took to Twitter to react: “Hi. Akshu. Have you changed your religion? Love you, even if you have. Love unlike religion is unconditional. Enjoy life . Love- Your Bapu” Look like nothing perturbs the eccentric father. Akshara also replied to him, ” Hi bapuji. No, still an atheist. Although i agree with Buddhism as it is a way of life and in an individual’s way of life.
Now in an interview with Mumbai Mirror she goes on to explainwhat about Buddhism attracted her: “I have not converted to Buddhism, I am still an atheist, but I have embraced Buddhism as a way of life. A friend of mine has been following it and my conversations with him along with my curious mind and my parents’ (Kamal and Sarika) open mindedness made me contemplate. Gautam Buddha, himself, didn’t want to be looked up to as God, he found nirvana by following the path, which he had created for himself. I too want to reach the peak by following my own path and living life on my own terms.“ She also revealed this new found faith made her a better person.
In other news, fans are now awaoting her upcoming film – Vivegam. It’s one of tamil cinema’s most awaited projects as it stars Thala Ajith. Apart from Akshara, the film also stars Kajal Aggarwal and Vivek Oberoi. Interestingly, the four are teaming up for the first time. Akshara was all praises for Ajith, she bonded with the star over photography. She is also very excited about her character in Vivegam. She found sets brimming with positivity throughout.
Currently, Vivegam is in the censor queue, as of now the film is set to release on August 10. So far, the film’s music album has opened to rave reviews. The teaser has gone to become the most liked promo beating Rajinikanth’s Kabali. This film will mark Siva and Ajith’s third collaboration.
