Sanjay Dutt’s film Gyarah to roll next year, reveals director Anubhav Sinha

Anubhav Sinha, whose Tum Bin 2 (second instalment to his 2001 musical romance) is hitting the screens on 18th November, is all set to make a film with Sanjay Dutt. Buzz is strong that he is making a film called Gyarah with the actor. It’s being said to be a follow up to his 2005 thriller Dus. Although the 51-year-old filmmaker insists that it’s not a sequel, he admits that it’s going to be on the lines of Dus.“It’s an action thriller and Bhushan Kumar is keen on producing it. I’d spoken to Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) about Gyarah briefly earlier and will give him a full narration once Tum Bin 2 releases,” Anubhav told a leading tabloid. He also added that he might start with a smaller film first as Gyarah needs to be made on a bigger scale and so it would need more time for prep.“I’ve spoken to a few action directors and will start getting my crew together next year.”

Sanjay was released from jail this February, after serving the remainder of his five-year sentence for illegal possession of arms, and has been getting some really good offers from filmmakers since then. At a media interaction on the occasion of his 57th birthday, Sanjay said, “ My movie with (Vidhu) Vinod Chopra sahab will start in November, it is called Marco. And after that, I am doing a film with Mahesh Manjrekar, it is a remake of De Dhakka, and then there is a good line-up of movies.”

Talking about De Dhakka he said, “ It is a family film and it’s about how a broken family reunites. He (Manjrekar) has adapted it well, let’s see what happens.” Asked about “Munnabhai 3”, he said, “2018.” Asked the reason for the delay, considering the excitement in fans for the film, he said: “That you should ask Raju Hirani and Vinod sir. Even I am waiting for ‘Munnabhai’.

Earlier we had informed you that Sanjay wanted to return to the big screen with a bang and what better than the revival of the Munnabhai series. He was very excited about it and wanted it to be his first film post his release from jail. But with his biopic underway, Hirani pushed the third film in the series ahead which reportedly didn’t set in well with Sanjay. However with this fabulous line up of films we are sure Sanjay will not mind the delay in MunnaBhai3.

What’s more, we also hear that Sanjay has been signed up for Girish Malik’s next – Torbaaz, where he will an an embittered army officer whose life changes after he comes across a few child suicide bombers. Clearly, Sanjay’s jail sentence has not affected his relations in the industry.
